The French Gourmet, a member of the "Leading Caterers of America," has served San Diego with what many consider the city's finest, full-service catering since 1979. Besides its large catering and wholesale division, The French Gourmet is well known for its showcase French restaurant and bakery.
The Challenge
Michel approached us in 1999 with the single objective of developing a web site that was going to be more than just fun, attractive and friendly. It had to provide a clear message of how the company operates in its different departments and divisions. Our team was also engaged to produce a comprehensive and easy-to-use shop e-commerce solution.
The Results
The company's investment return took about 45 days. The site increased sales over 33% by captivating a new segment of the market, and today it has captured almost 47% of the company's most profitable businesses. It has lowered the operation process cost by more than 27% by avoiding sales representative commissions, long phone conversations and brochure send-outs. More, it provides clients with information about a variety of options they weren’t even aware the company had offered for years.
The site was launched in January of 2000, and we have worked with them ever since. The web site was awarded the Golden Web Award in 2001 by the International Association of Web Masters and Designers.
